One of my most radical views is that everyone deeply wants to work hard and enjoy deep work. There is no inherent laziness, laziness as a description is just simplifying the issue. Someone under the right circumstances will always enjoy and look for work. Idk how we set up society this way but my 20s so far has been spent on making this work for me. Glad to see u wrestling with it as well

I just finished reading your article, and I want you to know how proud I am of you. Writing openly about your ADHD challenges and the systems you have intentionally built to support yourself shows so much maturity and self-awareness. You articulated your experience in such a thoughtful way. As a parent, I wish I had understood more, and much earlier, how best to support you. Knowing now what you were navigating silently makes me reflect on how different things might have been if we had more awareness and tools at that time. But I want you to hear this clearly: YOU HAVE DONE INCREDIBLY WELL, even with the obstacles you faced, and I am grateful for the young man you have become. I am proud of the systems you’ve built, your routines and support network. They show that you didn’t let ADHD define you; instead, you learned how to work with it. That resilience will serve you for the rest of your life. Thank you for sharing your story publicly. I believe it will encourage others who are navigating similar challenges, and it helps all of us parents and educators to learn how to understand and support better. Much Love!!!

Brother. Genuinely one of my favourite pieces of work on this damn app! Like as someone with ADHD the past 4/5 years have really been as you said.

Now at this point neurodivergent or not I feel like all our brains work differently so I try to constantly be aware of how mine does and put myself in the best situations for this to be productive. (As you said there’s no finish line where any of us figure it all out but it’s more so understanding that it’ll always be in flux so instead of being annoyed at yourself … come to understand this and make an effort to constantly be learning of the best ways to adapt to the unique situations like will put you in).

It’s really a year on year every day learning experience of constant tinkering and trying to figure out what works for you with work, being efficient, relationships (both friendship and lovers), consumption (books, movies, music etc), creating, social media like the whole 9 and allowing that process to be changing. (Hopefully what I said made a bit of sense lol) but yeah love this article … deeply spoke to me 🫡🥺🤝🏾
